Lord Halar wants you to refine the shard you've been using to enter the Gloom. Use the Echo Matrix to create a Gloom Dagger by combining it with the ember you recovered from the Codex Halls.

With a Codex Ember in your possession, Lord Halar believes it is time to refine the shard you've been using to enter Lost Zones in the Gloom. He will show you how to use the Echo Matrix and create a Gloom Dagger, by combining the focusing shard with the ember recovered from the Codex Halls.

With Halar's help, your Gloom Dagger has been refined and you have forged a connection to the ruins of the Codex Halls. But to enter the Lost Zone, you will need to find the Breach tied to it in the Highlands.
